Naval Air Station Fort Lauderdale Museum

Originally established in 1942 during the national defense program, this naval air station played a vital role in World War II as one of 257 air stations and served as a key training center for TBM/TBF Avenger aircraft. It significantly contributed to military readiness and national growth. Of the more than 200 original buildings, only one remains today—Building #8, the Link Trainer Building, which housed flight simulators. This historic structure now serves as a museum preserving the station’s legacy.
