Since Joe and Peggy Buonavolanto opened the first Buona restaurant in 1981, Buona has remained a multigenerational family business built around Chicago food traditions. Italian beef anchors the menu, alongside Italian beef and sausage combos, cheeseburgers, grilled chicken sandwiches, chopped chicken salad, and cheese fries. Catering also extends the menu to groups, while Buona's family recipe and slow-roasting method continue to shape how its food is prepared from one generation to the next.
